Such a lovely place! Food, service, venue... and the hospitality... one of my favorites in Berlin...! We had a lot of fun, felt like at family house due to amount of care we had received... something incredible!
My visit to Benne Berlin turned into a full-blown love story. I ordered the chicken ghee roast, and let’s just say… it wasn’t a meal, it was a spiritual experience. Rich, fragrant, perfectly spiced—each bite felt like it deserved its own round of applause. I genuinely had to slow down, not out of control, but out of respect. And the staff? Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly kind—the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years, even on your first visit. By the end, I wasn’t just full—I was emotionally invested. Highly recommended… unless you’re not ready to get this attached to a restaurant.
This is hands down one of the best (authentic) south Indian restaurant I discovered in Berlin. Went there with a group of friends and we ordered a lot of dishes and I am extremely happy to say that each and every dish was spectacular. Highly recommend the Mysore Masala dosa, the pakoras, gobi manchurian and also the samosas. The food wasn’t altered at all and the spices were kept intact which was the best part. Highly recommend!
Very authentic South Indian food! Every dish we tried had a unique, homely taste that truly reminded us of home. Benne Berlin clearly cooks with passion — their chefs are experienced and come from India, ensuring every dish is as authentic as it gets. Also restaurant ambience is really good for any family dinners.
If you are looking for a close to home (or close to India) flavours with a German fine-dining twist, this South Indian restaurant has to be your new hang! I am from the North of India and dosas, even the ones I was introduced to in Delhi, feel like a diasporic endeavor. The good ones like those at the Carnatic cafe in Delhi are ones I often return to. I have no way of comparing them to historicity of homemade dosas but the ones at Carnatic cafe evoke a similar feeling. Benne’s in Berlin is a close second, and i’ll be visiting often!
Kappa Beef absolutely delivered. The beef was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. The seasoning was balanced perfectly — rich and savory without being overwhelming. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and cooked with care. The portion size was satisfying, and the presentation looked just as good as it tasted. Definitely one of the better beef dishes I’ve had recently, and I’d happily order it again. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys flavorful, quality beef dishes.”
Best south Indian food in Berlin. Amazing food and service. The Lamb biryani is the best biryani i have ever eaten , the meat melts down with full of flavor. The perfect blend of spices and flavor . Definitely suggest and affordable price. Staffs are super friendly and cozy space .
The kappa beef here was absolutely delicious! The beef was tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, while the kappa was soft and well-cooked with an authentic Kerala taste. The combination was rich, satisfying, and full of traditional flavor. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was great too. Definitely one of the best kappa beef dishes I’ve had — highly recommended for anyone who loves Kerala cuisine!”
We recently visited Benne Berlin, and the experience was surprisingly good. We tried their Paneer Biryani, which came beautifully served with a chapati-style cover on top - a really unique touch! The biryani was fresh, flavourful, and the paneer was soft with perfectly balanced spices. For starters, we ordered cutlets and onion pakoras. Both were crispy, hot, and tasted very homely, just like proper Indian snacks. The portion size was also generous, which we really appreciated. The restaurant has a calm vibe and the staff were polite and friendly. Overall, it's a great spot in Berlin to enjoy real Indian flavours.
I’m so excited that there’s finally a place in Berlin that has authentic food from Karnatakaaaa! South Indian food is a ginormous beast. There’s a lot of Kerala, Andra, and Tamil Nadu places in Berlin. But none doing Karnataka food until Benne Berlin. The dosey (you might know it as dosa but it’s dosey :p) was amazing. We also ordered the prawn ghee roast which was rich and delicious (on the spicier side but the good kinda spice where it’s flavorful and not just HOT) with neer dosey. That neer dosey was brilliant, as my friend said “I would snort this if I could” 😂 We also ordered the mutton nalli biryani and BOY, let me tell you - it was the best. They even have salna (an accompaniment to biryani) and I have not seen any other restaurant here serve salna with their biryani. We Indians love our biryani and I’m ecstatic to have found this biryani. It was so good. Huge kudos to the chef! Also I got so much happiness and kicks from talking in Kannada with everyone 💟💕 the staff were super nice. The only thing I would tell the restaurant is to up their decor a bit - the place needs some more decor to create a better experience and vibe. You have incredible cocktails as well. If you spruce up the decor, you could create a more unforgettable experience 💕 All in all, definitely coming back here because there’s so much more to try on the menu!
